Jump to a question:
What is the maximum altitude your drones fly?
The maximum altitude allowed by the FAA is 400 feet above ground level. The terrain along with structures such as power lines or buildings will determine the minimum altitude that we could fly safely at your location. For the best results we have found that an altitude of about 200 - 300 feet above ground level provides excellent results.
Do you need a licenses or certificates to fly your drone?
Yes, Remote Unmanned Aerial System (drone) operators must obtain a Part 107 certification from the FAA for commercial use. At SunriseUAS all of our operators are FAA certified.
Are there any restrictions on the location where you can operate your drones?
Yes, in some locations there is the possibility for your property to be in a restricted airspace area. SunriseUAS will conduct a check with the FAA prior to a scheduled flight for restrictions, if need be we can apply for restriction waivers from the FAA in order to legally fly in most airspace.
Do you have liability insurance in case of any accidents or damage?
Yes, SunriseUAS carries a 1 million dollar liabilty insurance policy for damage or accidents during a flight.
How far in advance do I need to schedule your services?
As the majority of our clients are hunters looking for the most detailed imagery they can get of the property, it is important to conduct flights at the best times of the year. Primarily late fall / early winter and early spring when the trees are leafless. This allows you to see through the tree canopy and identify the important features on the ground. Because of this limited window of opportunity it is best to contact us as quickly as possible and get scheduled as opportunities fill up fast.
